1129: Old Coulston Hash House Harriers World Tour 2008

Methuselah, Pegasus and Neice Katie set a nice medium length hash out the North gate next to the sea and some very territorial arctic terns. It was a small group as most of the teachers and a few Engineers were still away freezing themselves in the lands to the North. The terrain was mainly flat and a bit sandy but nice and long. Not much paint was used but luckily the soft sand left a nice trail of footprints to follow. First in was Scott Haggarty who got through the most of the right words with a little help from Paw. Rocky bucketed Coach, Scott and Myself for no reson but spite.

Methuselah who is a big fan of Maguyver fashioned a makeshift cup out of a water bottle for his thirsty wife and we all had a well earned drink as the sun set.

Entertainment was provided by Firecracker who took just about every wrong route out of the site before giving up and coming back for directions. Looks like you should have got a GPS for the Volvo Coach.

1128: Hashmas

Although astronomers have recently placed the birthday of JC at 17th June by identifying the star of Bethlehem (Conjunction of Venus and Jupiter) the Dukhan Hash decided to keep with tradition and celebrate Hashmas on the last Sunday before the 25th of December.

Coach set a sort of seasonal blue and green trail on the only unpainted ground around the Hashmas site. There were three short trails over fairly flat ground so we could get back quickly to enjoy the beer and singing. Most of the hash managed to be miles away from the On-In though as the hare had marked it near the middle of the last trail. I only made it in first as I was counting on Coaches devious streak emerging.

Neil Scott chose myself as a bucketing candidate although he could not come up with a reason. Frank also was soaked for interrupting the hash circle with a phone call and not wearing a hash T-Shirt.

Everybody huddled round the fire in the chilly desert and sung traditional and hashified carols.

Thanks to everybody who provided food, fire and lighting. The Chili was excellent.

1127: "Worst Hash Ever!" (Klipe)

Hot to Trot and Gump set the longest Hash run in living memory and had even Methusala groaning about the rocky terrain. Up and down jebels with the agility of a 3 legged goat half the Hash mumped and moaned as they persevered along the trails. It was a shame that there were few runners for such a lengthy Hash with no usual second trail for the older members. It was agreed that the area picked was a wonderful area for the Hash and will no doubt be used again. The trails were well marked and scenic, in fact it covered half of the Fahahil area.Coach thought that it was the first Hash he'd been on that started on Sunday and was destined to finish on the Monday. Comments were given by Pegasus and she was kind to the Hares. Klipe was the second comment and got ripped right into our pair of Hares for leading us up dangerous rocky surfaces and forcing several of the older ones to slip and slide down more rocky screes..Fast Ed was the Buck-a-teer and soaked Hot to trot and Gump for the trail and Rob for departing for Vancouver snow. The circle enjoyed the usual refreshments and plans were made for the forthcoming " Hashmas " On on.

1126: Khatiyah North Human Racing Circuit

It was a lovely sunny day at the Khatiyah North human racing circuit.  Although the number of humans participating was small, there was a good turnout of camel spectators.  Snacks of bush and shrub were readily available as the camels watched humans of various shapes and sizes run around in circles for aparently no discernable reason.  They went up and down sandy slopes and across large flat plains shouting things like "on-on" and "checking in".  One skinny human in yellow paid little attention to the course and just ran around lots while one four legged racer was more interested in the spectators than the race.

Razamashaz set a nice human hash race which she un-necessarily apologised for at the start.  Nice use of a dual colour course to make it more interesting.  Unconventionally, the hare was also the spy.  She bucketed Cluseau for going on holiday, Hang-About for hanging about and myself for forgetting the hash books.

Good turnout for a holiday period.  On On the harespy, coach the temporary hashmaster and quench.

1125: Nothashmas

Several educators and educatees feel that Qatar is not the place to be during the festive season. It was therefore necessary to organise a sort of early Hashmas for those heading away to celebrate Christmas and New Year with family & friends.

Everyone gathered as normal in the car park outside the golf club at 3:30pm. Coach made a brief appearance in his shiny new Volvo before remembering that the oven was on.

VC and Tony set a nice long hash in festive green and red which managed to distinguish it from any remaining marks from recent hashes around that area. There was plenty of soft sand to keep bummer happy, finishing by crossing a long stony plain with the festive On-In in plain sight of the cars. Good first attempt Tony, hopefully to be repeated soon.

Rigger Jim showered the kids with sweets after threatening them with the bucket. Then came the real bucket where HTT was punished for his objections to Xmas carols along with the snotty nosed Del and Penelope Pissed-Up.

Mulled Wine, Hot Chocolate and lots of food were brought along by the more organised of us. Firewood was provided by the sadly absent Klipe. Carols were sung, accompanied by Doctor Justice on the trumpet. There was a special appearance by Valerie Bloom who's rendition of Pinda Cake with actions was well received. http://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/education/articulate/projects/vb/bloom2/bloom2_transcript.html

A big thanks to everybody who helped to organise the Nothashmas. Good practice for the real thing on the Sunday before Xmas.

1123: Postman Pat & Miss Grace's Environmentally Friendly Hash

Making the best possible use of spray paint and ensuring that we all had an interesting, if familiar run around the desert, Postman Pat and Miss Grace decided to set this week's hash South along the shore from Dukhan right next to a hash set by Del a few weeks ago. Postman Pat used her excellant geographical skills to lead us on a long-ish route across soft sand and stones, doubling back for the third trail almost on top of the first which had been previously obscured. The On-In was hidden on a piece of wood between some rocks, leaving a nice straight run for the cars. Adam kept pace with HTT (Myself) all the way back to the cars but Cluseau nearly snatched the first in spot from us at the last minute. Adam had his revenge though and bucketed all of his now ex-friends from school. Not a wise move if you want to get a good hash name next week.

1122: Ceweed's Patented Juction Technique

As the convoy of expectant hashers followed Ceweed out of the North Gate and into the wilds of Ras Dukhan a few were wondering if Ceweed's memory and navigation skills were holding up or whether his trusty guide dog Ellie would find the right way to this weeks hash site. But man and dog and Santa Fe found the true path and led us all on a nice hash overlooking the bay of Zikreet with some Flamingos in the distance. A technique Ceweed learned while fighting in the Spanish Civil war came into play on this hash, giving hashers the choice of two paths, one true, one false with a distinctive junction marker in the sand. The On-In was positioned under a pipe bridge unexpectedly near the cars as some of the runners were quite far away by the time it was found.

Sweets were presented to the lucky winners of the best Guy competition and children were spotted sharing crisps. Those labels on the bags must be working.

1121 - Bononfire Night 2008

Coach set a longer than usual hash with 3 (not 5) tristy turny trails and an ON-IN which needed a few hints to find. There was a bit of a race for the finish, with Glaiket narrowly beating myself to the job of toasting the usual dignitaries.

Methusela was chosen to be spy, using this opportunity to bucket Jaws, E.T. and Gump. There was a bit of a miscarriage of justice in the case of Gump as the person who almost beat Glaiket in should have been in his place. We will have to get the stick figure from Cold Case in to sort it all out.

In a nice natural amphitheatre, a failed terrorist attack was commemorated. Effigies of Guido Fawkes created by hashers young and old were set alight while Jaws and Cluseau risked third degree burns to take group hash photos. Limited edition (Still some left) T-Shirts were sold with a special bononfire night design. There were sparklers for the kids and refreshments for the adults. An excellent time was had by all while unbeknownst to most, the ghost of Guido Fawkes was hiding behind a jebel, plotting to blow up the barbecue.

Thanks to everybody for organising a brillian night, especially Klipe for the wood, the kids for the guys, Coach for being hare and everybody who brought food.

On On everybody.

1120: Gregory's Gusty Gallavant

A new-ish hasher tried his hand at setting the trail this week. Gregory took us out by the back of Arab-D to a seldom used location. As the seasons are changing, there was a bit of a wind which made it hard to hear the calls or the bugle. We all made it around in the end, taking in a lot of soft sand and some rocky terrain which must have pleased the ex hashmaster of the same name.

Glen was a bit sneaky in his spying, picking out most of the girls for offences against the hash before changing his mind and bucketing all of the men.

A few beers were had by the light of Arab-D's flares which were burning more fiercly than usual.

Our illustrious hashmaster will be celebrating Bonfire night in the clubs of Beirut but Coach has graciously stepped in to take over his duties.

We are sure to have a large gathering of hashers at the Bonfire Night run to celebrate the demise of the traitor Guido Fawkes 402 years ago. A few effigies of him will be ritually burned on Thursday night.

1119: Sideshow's Scramble and Sand Trail

Sideshow and Bummer set a torturous route out the back of Khatiyah Main across ankle breaking rocks, up and down 45 degree rocky slopes and along the sides of sandy hills. This did not phase Cluseau who charged ahead, coming in first and for a change getting both the number and the words right. Pestasaurus made him pay for his speed though and gave him and most of the other teachers a well deserved bucketing.

Methusela's comprehensive range of camping gear was showcased from the back of Vomit Comet's pickup. Some lucky people will win all in the upcoming raffle so bring lots of money to buy tickets.

Darkness fell on us rather quickly so it was decided to start next week's hash at 3:30pm.

A new hash email address just for photos has been created. It is photos.dukhanhash@gmail.com. So send in all your hash photos and they will be displayed on the blog.

1118: The Grand Old Duke of York

He had about 40 hashers, he ran them up to the top of the hill, and he ran them down again.

Del's first attempt at setting a hash was a great success after the locationally challenged hares got their bearings. The trails started off rocky, went sandy, had a huge false trail and then headed off down the beach. The mobile ON-IN had to be brought closer to the cars as the light dimmed and Pestasaurus dashed back to be first in. Good to see new hashers volunteering to set the trails. Great turnout again with a few new faces too. Spy was Coach freshly back from his holidays and he found an excuse to bucket nearly everybody.

Not long until the Guy Fawkes Hash (6th November). Kids get your guys ready to meet their fiery doom.

Sunday 12 October 2008

1117: Rigger Jim & Trotter's dual trail mountain hash.

VC foolishly accepted my offer to set the hash last week. So along with rigger Jim who was eager to set a hash before going away for a month we laid a long hash and a short hash.

We had the best turnout for a long time, with a lot of new teachers and kids. There was a bit of confusion with the first trail as Gary and Cluseau led everyone on to an old trail, but with a little help from the trumpet we found our way again. Then the runners shot off into the distance leaving the middle of the pack to straight-line a very wiggly course. Then it was along the pipes and up a jebel to finish. Glen Morangie was first in and recited the words perfectly. Jaws down-downed a fizzy tiger to celebrate his 50th birthday, spilling most of it on his head.

Penelope pissed up was very happy to stand in as spy and was spoiled for choice of people to bucket. She concentrated mainly on the guys, bucketing VC, myself and Dr. Justice.

Bonfire night hash coming up, probably Thursday the 6th.

1116: Katie's Scenic Tour of Zikreet

Katie set a nice long hash in the popular hole in the wall area, leading us around jebels, across soft sand and flat areas of compacted sand. There was much amazement that the pallets used for the Hashmas remained where they were left. Trotter (myself) was asked to step in as spy at the last minute but showed mercy on the T-Shirtless newbies as hashberdash supplies are low. New T-Shirt is imminent. Cluseau received a bucketing for breaching article 2.3 of the rules (not running the full length of a false trail), Del failed to prepare himself and his family for the hash in good time and VC was bucketed for failing to follow Engineering advice and construct a windbreak for the hash camp fire to burn the wood slower.

On On the hare, stand in quench, stand in hash-cash and everybody else involved.

1115 Survivor

The morning after the night before.........up at the crack of dawn (except VC that is). The sea was tranquil if our heads weren't, a quick collect of all the rubbish (oh the joy of staying over) and the little ones continued building fires. All clear, The VC emerged and off we went on a live hash fearing the worst (with Jaws, Gump, Rocky, and Josh in the pack of hares). Tony though it was led us a bit of a dance (backwards, sideways, skipping, 'the 2 ronnies'), then Kirsty wasn't easy on us. The Pest's trail though stopped before it even began! Forest enjoyed there being no bucket filling a used food container with grimy ice water from the cool box and delivering a mass bucket. On On!

In the meantime the littlest hashers hadd stolen the breakfast fire from under the hash bed, so, tents down, happy, weary sandy way home.

Remains to say thanks to everyone involved.
Klipe for the wood and location. Katie and Mister Vomit for the run. Clousseau and Bubbley for the BBQ and everyone who did for the food. Meths for the refreshments. The Comet for the rather too biased quiz. Everyone for coming .. and laughing. And to the survivors for leaving the spot spotless as ever.

See you on Bonfire night!

1111: Initial Integer Intriguing Interhash

The long anticipated run 1111 had to overcome a multitude of challenges including the felling of the first hare by an ant and a last minute change of T-Shirt design due to lack of ink. Vomit Comet set a good medium length hash over not too challenging terrain so we could get back to base in plenty of time for cluseau and kanga dallas to cook up some chickens and some burgers in honour of sideshow's birthday.

We were visited by some long distance hashers from Doha including Milky bar kid and Yanks offalot. Hopefully a delegation from Dukhan will be sent to Doha soon.

Razzamashaz gave a completely unwarranted bucketing to a few, including one poor fellow whose only crime was to have a haircut.

On on the hare, spy and the hash chefs.

1108 -

Sky Blue dots to match the new shirts, we're getting trendy, but Clousseau proving how clueless he is confused them with the blue sky and sea. The Coach dragged us through soft sand up and down rocks and hills and over tarmac raods past hares all for the sake of spectacular views not a single new hasher joined to see. The returnees got soaked for their efforts.
Poor Show from the VC, moving house is a weak excuse. For a Hash Master, inexcusable, Hope the spy is watching.

1106: Flotsam & Jetsam 11006? 10106? 1006?

Fast Eddie and Mo set a surprisingly challenging hash for the time of year. They took us South towards the Dukhan Camp Site where we had a predictable but decently long and undulating run.

As always, Eddie did not disappoint with his ON-IN creativity, hiding it among a pile of driftwood, nets and plastic bottles on the beach.

As Cluseau was the first in he decided to demonstraite his excellant numeracy skills once again, fumbling the run number three or four times. Ceweed finally helped him out by writing the correct number in the sand.

Congratulations to Fast Eddie for completing 500 runs and to Madame Klipe for running her 300th.

A lovely sunset over the sea marked the passing of a few more cans of the dwindling supply of Oranjebaum as the hashers discussed politics and religion while scoffing a lovely spicy sausage beany lovingly prepared by Messrs Fast Eddie and Mo.

Sunday 3 August 2008

1105: High Speed Hairwash

Veteren Hare Ceweed set three twisty turny trails and a couple of falsies at a nice spot inland of Khatiyah Main. Most people knew that he would not put the ON-IN far away from the end of the third but one fool and his dog slid down the side of a scree slope and went up a high jebel in search of the finish.

Fast Eddie's son Declan and his freind Stuart made an appearance. I think they quite enjoyed running around the desert without being shot at for a change.

Cluseau carried on the tradition of giving a vengance based bucketing to Myself, Coach and Methuselah. Pegasus nearly escaped by running away but did not count on the spy being quicker, even with a bucket of water in hand.

A lovely medium spiced vegetarian beany was provided by Pegasus and Methuselah which was appreciated by human hashers and those from the animal kingdom alike.

1104: Cluseau's Double Back Bonanza

Sorry for the delay everybody. Here is last Sunday's hash review.

Cluseau set a lovely hash, very considerately leaving fresh footprints in the sand for people to follow between the first and second trails. Just as well because he took us nearly back to the cars for the second. There was not a lot of enthusiasm to look for the third though. More interesting were the lizards scuttling around the place. When the on-on was called, some people limped, some walked and some made a bit of an effort to run to the end. Methuselah found the on-in just over a ridge and sprinted to the finish closely followed by myself (HTT).

As per usual the spy does not really need a valid reason for bucketing someone, vengeance will do. Ceweed was bucketed for leading us astray on the way to last week's hash and myself and Klipe got soaked by Fast Eddie for the sheer hell of it.

The production department kindly arranged for an explosion and a thick black cloud to mark the end of the beer. How did they know?

Hot-To-Trot (Myself) had the honour of being spy. Cluseau was bucketed for over-populating the planet, Coach for non-attendance of my party last week and Hash-Ash and Margreet had a special bucketing for leaving. Hash-Ash tried to resist the bucketing in what I am sure is a direct violation of lots of Hash rules and should be punished appropriately. Spy and bucketee both ended up getting partially soaked, luckily the hot weather dried everybody off in no time.

The Meths/Pegasus pair gave us the distance and climbs we've come to expect. With a fabulous view to boot.

Pippin put the farewell boot in (that should read bucket). She was typically gentle really. And we bade sad bye bye to her and Whiplash.

And went to see Fag Ash Lil, Kanga D and ol Father Kluless and the delightful 3 day old Neve (sp?). FOr she's a Hasher through and through!

Run 1101: The long and the short of things

An experimental hash setting was laid by Ceweed and Hot-to-Trot (myself) with a short set of trails laid in red and a long set of trails set in blue. There were a lot of doubts about the practicality of this but everybody seemed to get the idea.

Cluseau came charging in first to make sure he got one of the last Oranjebooms before they go to Dutch beer heaven. Our maths teacher got confused between binary 8 and 10 and pronounced it run 1111. All was forgiven when he just said it again louder and clearer.

Almost unanimously Erik was named Hash Ash and has been given the prestigous honour of "Order of the Wheezing Cough (OWC)" by John Players Ltd.

Rave-On gave an evil bucketing certain of avoiding retribution as this was his last hash with QWCHHH, completely soaking Rocky and missing everybody else.

Jess, Dave and Stuart were named Postman Pat, Vomit Comet and Hot to Trot and Penny narrowly avoided a Bond related hash name and will continue her wacky races as Pelope Pissed-Up.

Miss Whiplash had multiple suspects for the bucket before deciding to conserve water for Gump the Geordie Cat Mangler and Hash Master VC for grand larceny of a Hash Cap.

While I'd been at wembley the temperature switch had been turned up, and it was thirsty work indeed., well done though Mr Hare.
Seeing Katie race home reminded of the days there was competition amongst the young schoolmasters who'd pace themselves, lurk and then dart for the finish line (do you read these lines tinkerbell? Morangieboom, what happened to you? and Mr C, we know what happened to you).
Mr Maggie F Gump got his name (Gump). On On.

1090 Monsieur Clueless is 200

The hareless hash, much to the delight of Adam, much less so to some of our older legs and joints, in typical fashion went on and on and on and on and on and......
Sideshow had kindly put in umpteen trails and umpty falsies and as usual all the wrong people got them. After Katie took us KMS out into the desert, Adam took us still MILES further, Gary, Ms Whiplash and others led us cruelly astray, and them's just the ones I remember. It was long and hard and hot.
That done, we celebrated Klouseau's birthday, it's been an eventful 200, the last hundred including looking after us lot and then becoming Dad.
We said Farewell in a down down kind of way to Rowdy John, who suggested we might not have seen the back of him yet. You'll always be welcome back JR. We remember and appreciate some of the notable trails you've set, and been surprised (to sleep) at the eloquence of some of your comments (that went on and on and on...)
We got in the mood for Mr Dixon's naming next week. And then I was off to get ready for the big match so nothing further to report. (League One Play Off Semi Final Monday 12th May).

1089

Very Welcome Back Gus, especially as he set the run, along with Fit Bird, Legless and The Pest. I guess Mr Moon was involved too but that remains to be confirmed.
It was at the peninsula's west coast peninsula, where the palm trees used to grew, another elevated sea view and a good run. It was even too much of a good thing for Bummer who got the bucket for evasive tactics. Darren pranced, posed, preened and parodied his way round making sure tens of names were on the tips of our tongues.
Lately we've had Mooses, Fuggers, Gazelles, foxes, dingos, wolves, camels, goats, snake warnings, and today a unicorn. Alannah was not so impressed and continued happily with her Bud n Sand.
Pickle seemed so at home with a bucket and found so many reasons and so many hashers to drench it's good news it won't be her for a while.
Bubbley had been cooking all day, and well worth it it was too. That's if you were cautious with the it's not hot I only put a couple of bags of chillis in dish.
Thanks all.

Jess was worried about what might emerge from some of the large holes we passed, I was careful to check no hashers vanished or were abducted into one! Alas, all arrived back safely.

Dan Milne and Josh Clarke, as they used to be known, having 'qualifed' as regulars for some time now and been waiting patiently, finally got their names - and promptly wished they hadn't bothered...probably.

Desperate, Elvis, Daniel, Mashed Potato...? No. Arise Full Moon, for obvious resons.

Hairy, Grudge, Stig, Daddy Long Legs....No. Phone Home, E.T (Have you seen his fingers?).

Next week Ms Gardener, Soon Mr Dixon, Darren should we ever see him again, and then Penny, Dave G, Jess and Erik are all getting close. Our youngest hasher has been pretty regular for some time now too.

You wouldn't credit it, it's hard to find a spy these days! Unfortunately the fifth spy selected was mean and nasty and, Gary, when my ear infection gets better, vengence will be mine...or Stuart's or.....

And the sun went down, and the sea reminded us that life is beautiful and what better than easing into the evening with some good friends and a smile.

Thanks Klipe for the short (short?!??!!!!!!!) run.
Well done Stuart Spy.

1085 WEEDZ BEENZ n Mo's Peas

A great crowd...over 30 hashers. Welcome Ceri and Riaz, Welcome Delia. Welcome Back Emma and all the rest!
The weather was kind, the location was as good for viewing as you can get (seas to the east, north and west).
Sea W took us this way and that, but no-one was not in. Klipe was out kliped by Rowdy John. The Coach had it in for some.
Splash.
We sang Happy 400th Hashday to Waldo K. Over a year of his life (or more than 1000 beers said he) spent On On in Dukhan. What more can one say.

eerr I'm quickly back to say more OF COURSE

Monsieur Clousseau promised us there was a Moose. Oh yes he did, and oh no there wasn't. Moderate is how he described the run. Abysmal was Pippin's word.

It was thrilling to see Esmerelda, Danielle, Ant, Ethan (sp?) and Alicia here again.

Klipe was left seething that so many media stars had got wind and stayed away, but it was another hevening's happy hash house harrying.

1081 HASH CAMP

By All Accounts it was a fabulous time!
Fantastic to welcome back some real blasts from the past, and lovely to greet some new faces too!
As the lenten fast was ended the night was went well into, bubbley's voicelessness next day is testament to that.
All else I understood was that Dazzer deserved his live bucket.
Incriminating photos (I hope) later. Sorry I missed you all.

Good to Patsy back, and of couurse our trusty two, FlyMo and Fast Ed.
Good to see the beautiful 4some of Glaiket, Razzer, Jess and Sally and the elusive Dave G too.
Thanks Klipe for a long run along the length. Soft sand, and sea.
Penny chose some good candidates for the bucket, and I'm sure will be more vindictive in the future!
It got cool and windy but was the kind of evening to sprawl long into the night with.

What more could you ask for?

Perfect Weather. Gorgeous Location (on the coast just before Zikrit hamlet). Sensational Company. And a few rows of green dots.

We welcomed back Adam, Erik, Darren, Bummer, Pcikle, Gary, Kanga and Clousseau.

While everyone else had been busy at the weekend, Rowdy set a give away run ("the next trail is the one just after the falsie ends"!).
Snowy ensured those who parred the Invitational Course (Coach) and other serious misdemeanourers (7000 runs indeed JK!) were let off and Pippin suffered for the Meths' boots getting errr 'marked'.

The sun set perfectly over the sea.

Camp a week on Friday.

Wonderful to welcome Heather Andy and Emma. Very welcome back FireCracker, Pips, Weedy, Glaiket, Gibbo.
Wonderful weather to while away a Sunday evening on.
It would have been, but Klipe had set a devious torture of a run.
Slime Green dots. Goats. Camels. Donkey. Hills. Miles. and Miles. Soft soft sand. A widely and widelier still dispersed haggle of hashers, A smug smug hare.
Judy may have appeared angelic, but was mean with the bucket. She said it was her turn to talk. After listening to Razzer & G Laik it (which in Yorkshire means 'Game Bird', and certainly not fowl) looking for the On In, I could well dispute that. Anyway, that was J's excuse for the several toasts. And maybe Judy and/or Penny gave us some hints as to suitable names when the time comes. What were those nether regional comments?

"The Tate would probly've paid a fortune for that" probably wasn't a compliment

what a l.o.v.e.l.y run!

In a generous canyon beside the sea. Soft firm flat running ground. And Undulating. Dots of blue. Hashers in all colours.
Lovely to welcome Frank and Rhea.
Thanks to Meths for the run and the spy for his klipe being worse than his bucket.

Hash Camp venue to be announced soon. You may want to make a Thursday of it (the rest of us will join on Friday 21st). It will be bring a dish. All entertainment ideas/offers welcomed.

It just keeps getting better!

Klueless Kluesseau didn't let us down, despite what 'glad' Darren would have.
Plenty of soft sand to keep us firm - Bummer, BUMMER! where were you!?!

But there were lots of us!

Absolutely delighted to welcome the intrepid three: Anna, Peter and Bo (Beau?) here for a few months on a probably forlorn hope of finding signs of human activity in the area! And simply delightful too to welcome Rick and Joan along with the Fowler clan.
Great to see so many regulars (in all your irregularities) back in such happy numbers. Of course I got the bucket for deciding to get the run done before dark and not mentioning you all by name. Why do I ever ask Coach to be Spy?

It's always fantastic, but this time of year (along with autumn) really is the best, and the circle stayed beside the coast way into the misty evening fog until the cupboard was bare and we wended our wistful happy ways home.

Half term already. The sun has come out. We were by the beach. Ahhhhhhhh. Sunday Lovely Sundays.
We warmly welcomed Liz after all these years, Judy's Steve and the Clarke's Mary, Ellen and Andy. Absolutey great of you to join us zigzagging brainlessly but hornily round the coastal desert.
Good to see lots of others back too. Like Pegasus and Klipe to mention just a couple.
Young Sean took us up down as only a young man would or could have done or thought to have done. Most muttered on route that he deserved bucketing for it. You wouldn't have it any other way would you Sean.
Danny was officially named a regular Dukhasher (?), there were some votes for GymSlip, fewer for Fadger the gadger and Brawniac, but resoundingly and appropriately, it's Jaws from now on.
Erik stood in essentially as Quench and very satisfactorily as Spy at short notice, hitting all the deserved miscreants. imo.
Bubbly cooked up a mean chilli beanie. A good sign when everyone goes back for seconds.
And, on that happy note, without mentioning the ridiculous dogs! Poot Poot. On On

Some Welcome Back! A fierce and freezing blizzard in the Dukhan Desert?!? What's going on! Well done to Clousseau for setting the trails. Well done to all and sundry that dared to brave the elements. Not sure how well done to the quickly disappearing quench.
Good to be back, but I'd been warned by his pupils that Mr C was a bit different. "This weather brings out the beauty of the desert" Eh? grey grimy wet? Unless you meant he plants and fuggers that will eventually appear. Brrrrrrrrrr. (Actually, I was thrilled to be back, loved the run and all)

Warm welcome to these blog pages to Eric and Margaret.
