1064: SEAWEED IS 700!!

And Coach/Quench/Hare/Spy set a well marked and well hidden trail typically short but a long way to find....if only we stopped to think it out and/or took those extra few steps....
It was cold today, relatively so. So, we enjoyed a decent warming run and at last didn't fancy the chilly bucket. Not surprisingly Morange got the shivers, joined by Gibbo (the puff!?) and birthday boy S Weed.

700 runs is very impressive (or sad? depends on your perspective) but his down down was less so and a few ale shampoos needed rinsing. Pippin prepared the commemorative photo which sideshow, surprisingly unbucketed, enjoyed presenting.
Poor Penny was not very helped by her Pickly, Bummy, Razzy friends and just about mustered the toast - that'll teach her to come in a blaze of first.
Coach faux pas came when he complimented a couple of our gorgeous ladies on their looks - forgetting to mention all the rest. So I will. Ladies, girls and women of the Dukhan Hash, you are all GORGEOUS! & I Love you all!
Pippins comments were polite and distracted, obviously too much talking on the way round.
And finally, Rocky opened his car to find Rock had filled the vehicle with 3 hundredweight of common desert rock. Charming.

1063

Morange took us to the top of a hill in the midst of soft sand and we were worried. last time it had been whatever goes down must come back up. This time. to the relief of most, no such luck. We stayed on the plane top. A good varigated run. Arman was first in and despite itching to make his own toast and Klipe's refusal to assist, the lovely Razzer got it all sorted. As did Seaweed, too long off the bucket, he's mellowed waiting his turn to spy. What's the square root of 29?
It was another of those evenings, the sun setting deep into the red red sea, as we watched the two coasts and passed the time until lotto called. Hi to Callum - just to see if you're watching!

1062

It was attack of the bar codes. Gary had striped acres of desert - and unsuspecting wildlife - black and white. There were hills, uphills. There was soft sand and more soft sand and soft sand up hills. When it wasn't, it was rocky underfoot. It went on for miles. (It took us miles to get there too, good job we started earlier!). And I, at least, loved it! The final view was spectacular.
Jude the spy was entertaining but very kind to most of the circle.
The names Johny Bravo, Proclaimer, Scooby Roo were suggested, but it was Pestasaurus that stuck - any idea who that was that had come of (hash) age?
All in all, another Sunday reminder of how beautiful the world can be when the people, the weather and the location are so good.
On On.

1060 - BONFIRE NIGHT CAMP

It just keeps getting better.

A quick quote for now. Thanks - recollections, comments.. still to come, later.

"Fantastic Camp! The Epitome of runs! A Vanity of a Bonfire! A desperate collection of Guys! Simply Sumptuous and Never ending Banquet! Weather to kill for and location to die for! Company to live for! Music Quiz to, errrrr, wade for! Staryy skies to gaze all night to! A most Intimate of Survivor runs! The slappest up of breakfasts. Oh Me Oh My! On and On and On and ON ON!"

Thanks to everyone who came. I say this with tears in my eyes.
Particular thanks to the Coanch for the Foot tapping (was that some kind of Glaswegian courtship display ?) Quiz, the cooking and the cocktails.
To Klipe for getting the site, the gear and the bonfire..that spectacular bonfire.. sorted out.
To Pippin for all her usual many tasks without which little would happen or work.
To Sideshow, Rock and Funky for surviving and tidying everything up so sweetly.
To everyone who brought the fantastic food.
And to everyone again.

1059

Effie's thai green curry and beanie for 40 went down a real treat. Excellent, thank you.
The evening in the warm glow of Arab D was balmy and beautful, so we lingered. A taste of the weekend to come we hopes.
Klipe as normal set a challenging run. I was happy at least.
Virgin Spy 'Big Gary' finally got a chance for revenge, and was completely out of order in his selections.
Kelsey became 'Chelsea Bun' and is an official Hash regular. Well done, Bun.

See you all at the camp!
