It was a good one. So I heard.

More when I hear more.

Alannah's Hash

It was a warm welcome back to John and Rosa, indeed it was a little warmer than the yet another cold rainy Dukhan day we'd woken too. A beautiful crisp day, a wonderful panoramic setting, the islamic new year and the show entirely stolen by the youngest ever Qatar West Coast Hash House Harrier, who, at the age of 6 1/2 weeks ran the entire run, albeit mostly asleep and occasionally murmering. Very welcome Alannah and ON ON! Congratulations to Clousseau and the Lovely Kanger Dallas.

Otherwise
Rosa became Zared, obviously. Mr Weed bucketted many - or not. Potter celebrated his new name with first and a commendably clear toast. Sideshow enjoyed her first bucket. Pegasus ducked and dived and Meths got wet instead. Coach set us a challenging run, himself included!

or Curries Beans Flames n Names

Can't keep Legolas (Louis) out of the headlines! I think he's been practising the toast and so HAD to come in first -again - today, I'm surprised he wasn't bucketed for it. Having completed 50 runs he was due his name: suggestions included King of the Swingers, T Rex, but he's so like the girl made of lego, it had to be that [I must check my sources - and spellings - on that one]. He did get the bucket for that at least.
As did Gari Potter whose name just so obviously chose itself, even though mum tried to protect him with Krusti the clown (same trousers if you had to ask)

It was a cold welcome back to the school crowd - Danny, Kate and Darren (they've learnt to tell the time it seems) - together with Squeeky D who complimented Weedy on excelling himself with a scenic, varied, distant, devious, double done and all found trail. Fast Edd made us hot by the fire, and we needed it, while Glaikit and Bubbly heated us with good grub (will the vegetarian who licked the pan clean like to own up?). Thanks you four.

The lovely Hash Mattress had had plenty of down downs before picking up her crystal award for 200 runs - think she was still going from last week. The monogamous Rocky - despite what the cruel Razza says - enjoyed awarding himself a 300th crystal. And thanked the Hash and Pips.

The Hashers
A lot of festive welcome backs, notably Seaweed, Coach & Firecracker returned from hols. A very warm welcome to Ben and Brian Sullivan - we think Ben enjoyed it, but the red lips caused much speculation - and we'd all like to see 'Cameraman' Brian's film. Well done to Andy for finding and joining us out in the desert wilderness despite our having left her behind - that's dedication.

The Run
On the flatlands between town and beach was of typical Simpson length and quality, which tested the returning coach who barely had the breath left to make his rather too polite comments. Louis Milne starred again, with a first in and clear toast even if there were some crumbs (blame his Mum?).

She's a Hasher Through and Through - So They Say
There were congratulatory Down Downs for three of our ladies. First Pippin gingerly sipped her way to 100 runs, next Glaiket delicately swigged down a cup on her 100th, finally the new Hash Mattress, Bubbly glugged bubblingly for her 200 - and is still glugging we believe.

Bucket
Klipe (aka Wilhelmina) maintained the feminine tone of the day, and put the new veterans, Pippin and Glaiket along with Andy in the middle - for no obvious good reason - as to be expected. Coach was in there too for kliping just to represent the boys.

NEXT WEEK
BONFIRE AND BEANIES - Don't miss, and tell all your friends!

On On!

Welcome to 2007. Our first of the year, the 1008th run, will take place on Sunday 7th Jan. Methusela and Pegasus are setting the run, so guaranteed to keep us warm!

Last week, a cold new year's eve run, saw just the few hardy regulars out - a shame as the course was set with some of Dukhan's newer hashers in mind...

Waldo enjoyed a rare first in, and that after all the keener runners had walked over the On In in contempt.
Louis Milne starred as spy - his first time - entertaining us all and punishing brothers Ruben and Danny along with Callum Klipeson - all for legitimate and good reason.
Have fun back in Edinburgh, Callum.

We need to think promptly of a name for Rosa and then Louis and Gari. And we've a few '00ths coming to note.
