1030

A very Welcome Back to our ever devious hares Fast Edd and Flymo. And to their shorn Declan and welcome too to Becky of Blackburn.
The run was to be expected, always simple but with tricks and turns that kept us all wrong often enough. The weather's starting to get warm, it was dusty, the soft sand was soft and the rocks rocky - plenty there for everyone to have something to moan about. Not much representation from the school - we think they can't handle the summer, despite the later start time, I guess they'll say they've reports due in soon. The desert remains green in places and, I thought, it was a rather pretty trail.
The ever faithful Pippin came of age and did a birthday down down thanks to Potter's tale telling. Happy Birthday Pipps!
Not too much drama today. Haircuts got the bucket. Mr Weed rushed off to...?..get his telescope out again it was suggested. A number gathered back at Bubbles's for some chicken and home made wedges. Great to get the Hash crowd together, laughing into the evening.

1029 Weeds Beens

OK so Rocky can't count. It wasn't the 1030th. That's next week.

This week we were treated. Our old Salt (Sea Weed) cooked beans. And a pan of sausage. And a spicy veg dish. AND chicken ginger pasta! WOW! There werén't that many of us, but we polished the lot off. In part as not content with all that work in the kitchen he (and the girls Esmerelda and Ellie) had set an endless run for us too. As the coach said, it's a good job a bit of cloud came over otherwise we'd have been carrying them home on stretchers. Moving on seamlessly (?) it was great to see the well-missed stalwarts Fast Edd, FlyMo and Firecracker back with usagain. It was hashy, hot and sticky. On On. And on to
Zared was finally spy. Pretending not to remember any names she seemed to have a found a reason to bucket the lot of us. Hashless hats, missed trails, unfulfilled promise, not running, last minuted On Ins, and of course uncontrolled doggy motions. Klipe kliped his way to safety.
The telescope (and the beer?) keep a crowd well into the night, where we became Wigan Latics for the evening and endured a nervous end to the premiership. Plenty of wild life as we drove home. See you next week when it's a later kick off.

Another absent Hare. Ne'er mind we enjoyed Pegasus' run if not her missed physical presence. You won't be surprised to hear it was long, straight, had four legs (for most) but was not that hard.
We welcomed Barbara - a long way to come to celebrate Razza's 40th - at least she brought the weather with her from Wales. Good to see Zared back too. Nice to see a new car too, and to see the quench at long last.
Speaking of whom, not content with holding us up at the start (only the quench _could_ get away with that) but then cutting short the run - indeed missing the 4th trail completely - in order to be first in for the 4th week in a row......well, no wonder Coach got the bucket! And Potter, Legolas where are you? We clearly can't count on Clousseau for a sprint finish.
A word of ettitiqette: If others have not yet completed the previous trail it is impolite to find the next one. Just turn a blind eye and jog around for a while. On the other hand, it is acceptable to lead others away from the On In before calling it - if you are competitively inclined.
We enjoyed wishing RazMaTaz a happy birthday. An evening of Hash and Bingo - only need the blue rinse to really set out your stall for the second half, eh! Start as you mean to go on! Still, the down down was down before we'd even said down.
Next week Mr Sea Weed will be feeding us.
