1027

There was the reluctant hare, the sick hare and the absent hare. There was the almost absent trail and multi-coloured trail and the suspiciously located On In ("Oh yes, I deliberately pointed you all the wrong way" Yeah right Pippin.) Nevertheless, it was nice to see some of the lesser hashed desert, and as Darren said we seemed entranced by the flora and fauna - himself stopping to eat desert nuts, consider well dressed buried women and disturb a thump (!??!). There was something for everyone. Thank you Pippin.

Fabulous to see our numbers swelling again, and some old favourites back amongst us. Esmerelda Weed in particular. Great to have hashers lingering till the box near went dry.

The Coach came in first. Again. No wonder he got the bucket. 4 weeks on the trot. After over a hundred runs it was finally Kanger Dallas' turn to spy. She made Kate blush. Apparently that's a first.

And onto the milestones. We have another 'Senior' Hasher, another 'old lady of the hash'. Twas RazzamaShaz's 100th run. Still, being in her thirties, she's isn't really that old yet. Yet. Well done ....and down down WITH chaser next week. There should've been a picture here but Bubbly reckons the camera broke! Shame.

Several of our 'juniors' have completed 20+ runs = a frequent hasher, so we're looking for names - F A-R, Andie and Kate. Danny is coming up soon.

Beanie coming in a fortnight. And the week after, continuing round at Rocky and Bubbley's.

Bubbly's bright red run by the beach and a third hash in 3 days - for the three that had survived at least. Well marked except for the missing trail. There were plenty to bucket and Monsieur K didn't disappoint.

1025 Survivor

Not many survivors. Not that many surviving campers!

interesting to be running at 6.30 in the morning. The adult contingent doing well given the night before.
Pippin lost count (somewhere between 2 and 3). Clousseau needed some dog's hair straight after.
Gari Potter enjoyed massively bucketing his mates and family.

1024 HASH CAMP

Thanks to Klipe and Eddie for a superb location.
Thanks to Klipe for the wood and the run.
Thanks to Clousseau for the sesational lamb, brying, and charades
Thanks to Coach for the traditional quiz, 'educational' he said, gender biased said we (which the fairer, unfair sex, allegedly won)
Thanks to Bubbly for the salads and burgers and doing all the preparation that the Hashmaster should've.
Great to see the numbers, given the force winds that were growing. The weather wasn't that bad. Not beside a fire, in a tent, in the sea.

Campig in the desert - fine
with a great group of mates - super fine.

1023

A super turn out, great to see everybody back, fit, cheerful, rested, happy. Warm welcome to new resident Gary and visiting new gran, Neena, for their first hashes. Welcome back to visitors Peter and Natasha, and longtime otherwise occupied Sean. And to everyone else. Especially good to see the younger hashers back en masse again.
The trail was rocky, bumpy, soft sand, winding....and that was the drive in! The run was more of the same with plently of hidden tricks deviously included. A good run round the hills betweeb Arab D and the cemetry. Mo,Gary and Danny did their best to get lost. And finally, Sean was first in, and even with Pippin's help twice couldn't manage the toast. Klipe was refreshingly honest in his critque of Clousseau's run - nice to hear good old Dukhan Hash traditions after all these months of gushing obsequiesness. Razzer clearly enjoyed taking over the bucket, and after her comments about Sean's body had all the men lining up to be selected. Not quite a mass bucketting but she can expect at least 8 'return' buckets in the near future anyway.

School holidays, Easter Egg Chases, all kinds of wimpy excuses meant we had only the few true hashers in attendance. Often, for a change, it's really nice that way. We opted for a live hash down by the soft sands by the desal plant. Live hashes are always hard work. And when the hares go to extreme and opposite lengths (Sqweeky, Clousseau) and even run falsies on the On In (Squeaky), it proves to be a bit much for my aging legs. Still the flies were flying. Ellie might have been able to catch them, but Mr Co-ordination Clousseau proved to be as Clueless as his name suggests. Obviously, being the obvious candidate for the bucket, Skweeki was spy, and certainly enjoyed it. On On

The Klipes April Fools' Palm Sunday Beanie Day (1021)

Lent done. The track was soft. Long. Straight. Hard. We worked for our beans.

Welcome back almost everyone (so what happened to the others?). It had been a surprise holiday. The night was delicious. The curry was delicious. The coach no doubt bucketed the usual suspects. And the young fellows.

I love it, me. On On.

Hash camp soon. Check the tent. Torches. Pegs.
