Run Number 1211

Hare: Mongrel

First In:  GPS

Comments: Louella

Spy:  The big man himself - Jaws

Location: North of Dukhan on the coast.

Running:  Road, beach and soft sand.

Weather:  Bloody Hot!

A World cup themed run which has painstakingly set by Mr Mongel, spoilt only by the fact the temperature was in the mid 40s!  After a craftly football shaped On In was discovered, Mr GPS beat Emo to the finishing line with millimetres to spare.

Hash Ball

Big thanks for all those who came to the hash ball at the golf club last Thursday.  A grand night out for all concerned!  Next function is a BBQ at the beach club after run 1213!

1195: Cluseau's Close One

Ex Hashmaster and lover of all things precipitous Cluseau set a hash within the range of a standard issue Qatari Army rifle this Sunday. He described it as "challenging terrain" but I think the comments of Panty were more accurate, comparing it to a level four rock climb. First in was predictably Fatboy Slim for about the 5th time in a row. The spy was the young Microphone Canton who drenched Ceweed for walking, Emo for following him and Cluseau for nearly breaking his ankle.

A three legged hash was suggested for run no. 1200 (flat terrain) and the run for clean water awareness was mentioned (18th April, 6km).

On On until next week.

1194: Methuselah's revenge

Hot to Trot, Hee-Haw and their soon to be named offspring set a hash near the DRC camp site. Many said that it was a shorter hash than HTT usually sets but most were grateful for the medium scale run. At the end of the first trail was a big mound of quartz crystals which kept Geronimo and Magnus happy for a while. As is the objective while setting the hash, the hashers were spread far and wide while the hares gave no visual clues to the possible direction of the next trail. The second trail was finally found by our illustrious hashmaster VC and we were off across some terrain which did not agree with Rocky's war wounds. He was seen at the end of the second trail performing what was either yoga or some Kate Bush inspired dance move in slow motion. VC was on a roll as Mudra and he walked straight towards the third trail and called it. There was a pleasant jog down the pipeline back towards the cars and then an obvious on-in on a barrel.

First in yet again was Fatboy-Slim. Comments were given by Microphone who thought that the run went in the wrong direction and was too cold. The spy turned out to be Methuselah who bucketed Morangie for poor boat discipline, GPS for bringing a new car to the hash, revenge was taken on Cluseau for taking revenge, Rocky was bucketed for performing a mass bucketing in the recent past and HTT was bucketed for taking too long to point out the second trail.

Magnus Irvine was named 'Trip' due to his frequent disagreements with the force of gravity before the circle dissolved and re-formed into multiple alternating dynamic social groupings.

Wheresma on in?

Fran ( Wheresma)and her crew of young jammin and Palm tree took us alongside the site of his nibs's new summer gaffe on the coast. As if by magic the wind dropped and we got stunning conditions for the run. A few of the x-mas holidaymakers made it back and were suitably welcomed. The Hash master was posted missing as his cat was either stuck up a tree or going to be stuck up a tree or something like that, something about scratching the masters favourite slipper? Or was it going to be turned into a slipper?
Anyway to the run. Trail one was led off by young Jammin and closely followed by Dorothy(The space cadet) with the rest of us strung out going up the rocky jebel. Trail 2 had a few of them scratching their heads as they all took off in different directions only for one of the young ones to find it.Up another Jebel to the top this time for the check-in. Trail 3 was found by Morangie and he led us away back down towards the seashore. The on-in was neatly hidden under a rocky crevice and we all made it back safely into the circle. The first in comments were made by young, aptly named Microphone, who very nearly whispered the toast.Hearing aids will be supplied to our elder hashers in the future. Comments were given by In-out and he was truly gracious to the hares. ( The smoth old Canadian Rascal )The spy stepped up and a few of the hashers knew immediately they were about to get a soaking,as it was Cluseau. Well he bucketed Morangie ( he usually does), Meths for complaining about catching fish, Ceweed, Postman Pat and Miss Disgrace for coming back, Rocky for handing his spy duties to Firecracker last week, Jaws and GPS for being noisy in the corner at the toast( I thought we were in a circle) and finally Panty for being himself. We all enjoyed the quench and the beautiful sunset. On On.

1186 The one after Santa came.

Hope all the Hashers got the prezzies they asked Santa for and they all managed to behave themselves. Ho Ho Ho ! The true spirit of Christmas was well and truly drunk on x-mas day.So much so that we had to have another live run as none of the Hashers could face setting the trail with massive headaches. Coach picked the spot for the run and handed out the pieces of paper and off we went.
Trail 1 was set by Dorothy who set off at a gallop with all the runners haring after him and after about a klick he shouted checking in. False trails came thick and fast after that and the real trail 2 was Wheresma's sister Kate. Suitably attired in flip flops and a thick winters jacket she trailed off for about 500m before she sucummed to the heat. The jacket came off and slightly pink admitted that she enjoyed that.
Rocky set off on another one of his runs before Zara shouted for trail 3 so back he tracked and followed the hashers going off into the distance. After check-in 3 was called Rocky called another trail and off we followed like lemmings only to be told after about a km that it was indeed a falsie. Mutterings from the crew until In-out called the on in and off he went back to the cars with the rest of us in tow.
Cluseau gave the first in toast and comments were given by one of our younger hashers Jammin who was a bit cruel to the hares as is his right. The spy this week was written on a piece of paper and picked by Rocky who passed it on to Firecracker as a x-mas present. She picked hubby Coach to take the full bucket as he should have explained the "Live Hash rules " to a few of our hashers. So the poor man got the lot. Happy new year when it comes Hashers and see you all on the 3rd of Jan 2010.

1185 The run before Santa comes

Meths and Pegasus set us a seasonal merry run in the desert. It was going to be set in x-mas colours but since Marmars is closed we're limited to the paint we can get.So it was back to good old red. 3 trails and a few falsies thrown in for good measure. With the teachers being on their jollies the numbers were a wee bit down on what we're used to. However the trails were enjoyed by the runners and walkers as well. First in was Fat Boy slim who gave the first in toast. Comments were given by Hot to trot who was kind to the Hares. Then the dreaded spy stepped forward and it was Meths. He proceeded to bucket Dorothy for the bicycle shorts and HTT for departing on his hols later in the week and Mark Roberts for the hell of it. On On and a Merry x-mas to all the hashers and ex-hashers who read the blog.
