1041

'Fast' Alan F's 2nd Hash and already a wet hare! At the top of a hill in the barren summer desert we were greeted by fish! Dry fish! The run was well set albeit a rather celtic shade of green. Some long trails, some hills to climb (it was worth the fabulous panoramic views) and some soft sand (Shame bummer wasn't here to perk up). Thank goodness for the nice breeze. It was good to see an athlete (Sean) back amongst us (said through gritted teeth) and good to see Rowdy for a consecutive week. The fleet footed Coach got back to winning ways. Potter made a decent fist of the comments - though a bit too complimentary I thought, then again an impressive job by the hares in the conditions. Good to see them still alive in fact! Stevie Abbott was remembered.
It was VERY good to see Pippin (and her cheeky sidekick GP) back again from their relaxing trip to Dubai (and Spennys). Coach got a barbeque going and with FireCracker and Flymo providing all the necessaries to make it a delicious 'Beer Can' (think Jamaican accent) and sausages burger bash in the beautiful balmy summer evening on the heights of Dukhan overlooking the Persian Gulf and, with Weedy's telescope, watching the little people walking around on the crescent of Venus and the orbulations of Jupiter's moons!
Another Wonderful night. Thanks all. See you in September!

1040

We warmly welcomed Alan, as Fast as his brother Ed, and Rowdy, back for a Sunday (yes, Sunday) run. We thanked FireCracker and the Coach for a superbly marked run, just the right length. We thanked Pippin and the Kennaways for a fantastic Bash on Friday. Rumours that Morange and a dog had been found at the bootom of the pool next morning were quashed. We sadly missed Zared, her speech, down down and farewell bucket as her packers had let her down -we thought we saw them driving lost round the desert several times Rosa. Anyway, all the best, enjoy Spain, we're sure you will. Nice to see Gus for 2 in a row, unfortunately, despite the more conservative shorts, it was 2 buckets in a row....Glaiket thought he needed another for going on leave (with her) this week. Otherwise. The rock had too many rocks, Potter was detrumpeted and we hope SeaWeed persuaded Pippin to make next week's hash a bit special.

And sweetly became the night. Good old days. On On.

1039 PIPPIN'S PARTY

Potter's Holiday Homework Assignment to write the report of the run.....

The Rock reports on the evening:
At Pippin's there was a big rectangle pool in the garden, full of water and wild children splashing their parents. The parents poured cold water on them (Morange). And they had too many beers (some of them), they sat outside and had a talk that got noisy. They went inside and had Pip's delicious spread. We think they were hungry! But they saved some for us. There was a bump which we won't mention. We played Cluedo and dripped on the floor. The parents got noisier. Then the raffle. Bubbley had hand painted 1000s of tickets and sold about 10. After the first 145 numbers we got our first winner! Coach is ready for a fruit punch, Rob will have to start cooking, Glaiket didn't say no to loadsa booze.

Good numbers despite it being a Sea Weed special. South Fahahil. First trail frequently lost. Soft sand, for the ladies apparently. But then, astonishingly well marked, and long.
We remarked on the cowardly absence of the thesps who'd performed an all too public satirical assasination of our hash at the weekend. Still, Fast Eddie had plenty of holiday goers for his extended, chilled, bucket!
Last week it was the golf range, this week baseball.
And we now have Hash Red tee shirts -if you're quick.
