1037

Not many of us today...were we still tired from the weekend? Good though to see a healthy turnout of youth. Shame as SeaWeed had created a most wonderous of runs...or so we believe. We decided to leave that for more runners next week (are you listening everyone?) and went for a live hash instead.
Which is where we started to regret the healthy turn out of youth. Josh took us a long way from the cars. Samuel then took us in the same direction. But further. And further. I think the older generations were delighted when Zared identified the On In before one or two other trails had been found.
Phew. Potter and the Rock waffled a bit amid no end of kliping* from legolas before rightly bucketting all those healthy youths and unjustly wreeking revenge on Coach and Rocky. Somehow we two oldies were the ones got soaked. (*future spies please note the original Klipe mysteriously absent on his last hash before leave).
A few final sketches for the cabaret were discussed whilst those yoofs lined up witht heir golf clubs. Another happy hash family.

1036 Zared's Retirement Bash

A fantastic turn-out. For an irregular Hash, a live hash, a hot day hash, a weekend hash, an after the night before, before the night to vcome kind of hash. Mad dogs and hashers? So, Super to have Adam back...all the way from Oz (via RLIC). Great too to see the Friday hashers, Pegasus and Rowdy.

Pipin kindly took us miles away to a multi-directional scenic location, just perfect for those live hares keen to run and run, falsely or not. Still, we should have been aware what we would be letting ourselves in for!

Josh's toast was first class, Rowdy lived up to his name, at length with the comments and Rocky got to spy for the first time in a year. Not many escaped.

And so onto R Z's for the evening.

To be continued..... Where the night was easy and relaxed. The food wonderful. Crosby Stills Nash and Young waved through the tropical air. Of course, Rosa danced. Hashers arrived from the woodwork. Darren played organ. So it seemed. Rosa danced. All we all went happy and sweetly to bed.

Thanks Senoritas A Red.

1035

Yes.

It was long. Difficult. Soft sand. Up down up. Devious.
Pippin told Klipe what she thought in no uncertain terms.

The turnout was excellent. The southerly location and the evening, lovely.

Miss Whiplash was named, christened and baptised. Bump!

& Not to mention the 12 foot rattling desert python.

See you Friday - it could be your turn to spy!

1034

Still more from the coach. Even more deviously based on Friday's trial, he had us going in a whole variety of directions at once, and rarely the right ones. It's humid and sweaty, but a nice breeze and another good turn out. Even little Anya made it round, at three must be one of the youngest to get round a whole hash on foot. No wonder she's flaked out on the couch now though.
It was one of those times, feeling like the hash family again as we chewed the grass, plotting cabarets and stuff well into the evening as the night gently fell.
Sideshow Mo was first in for the first time since Leah McCon was here - gentleman Potter letting her win (?), Monsieur Klipe got wet for depriving the town of water and flooding the valley, and Darren for abusing ice (?) Apparently SeaWeed didn't notice much as he was too intent studying the moons rocks or something based on what Bummsy had said. That was his excuse anyway.
After this weekend, Fridays are looking popular. Sea and Esmerelda decided to entertain us on the 2oth and then Pips will do us on the 6th. Groovy.

Anymore for anymore?

1033 - Pickle, Bum and a Coached BBQ

Was it Friday, was it the smell of Coach's cooking.......whatever the appeal it was wonderful to see Pegasus and Noisy (now Rowdy) John back with us again and we welcomed Clive, Zared and Mo back tooand a good turn out despite the heat.
The run was well marked, devious, flat, doubling back and through prickly bushes and soft sand. A good run - for Mo at least - and manageable too for the rest of us.
The ever fitter Andie got an old nickname back - having come of age (21) recently we christened her Pickle, narrowly preferred to Randy with Fakhir too difficult for most to pronounce. Anther baptism for Annie's foster mum, Kate, who was resoundingly called Bummer and wished she'd never opened her mouth last week.
Newly baptised Bummer got her revenge on Bubbles for the suggestion, revenge on Zared for an earlier bucket and revenge on Clive for something. How the Coach escaped we don't know.

And then

It was on to Firecracker's and Coach's for delicious burgers and a wonderful, happy, relaxed late Hashers night. The music got louder despite Coach turning it down becuase of the neighbours (it was the neighbours kept turning it up). Methusela led us in jive. The girls P and B did their down downs. Rob kept getting down to do press-ups.
A fantastic night. Thanks to all especially Coach and Cracker.

1032

Twas hot, humid, but a dusty breeze to calm things down M. Klueless drove us to the shore. Nothing like Biffo Blade's murderous marathon of last week. So he said.
The trails may have been short (thanks Kanger D?)but the bits in between were as deadly anything any Morange has done.
Good to see still good numbers turning up. And no wonder when we are complimented as being the 'Hash with the Good Bums' at least that's what Barbara tight arse (name pending adjudication) reckons all that soft sand does to us!
The Coach was finally made spy again and certainly didn't miss perennial favourite, Klipe, not our wannabe beer juggling fly catcher (yes, really). I think he was close to a mass bucket, but someone's stolen his big blue vessel.
So, we are in for a rare Friday treat on Friday, with run 1033, normal time normal place and then on to Coach and FireCracker's. The run promises to be 'something special', the venue's always good.
See you there, bring the family.
